IGPA, University of Agder, dan National University of Singapore melakukan penelitian Neighbors in different worlds? Comparing university strategies and roles in Indonesia and Singapore. Penelitian ini membandingkan strategi universitas yang berfokus pada keterkaitan antara relevansi lokal & nasional serta keunggulan global di satu sisi, dan kebutuhan untuk menyeimbangkan akses terhadap pendidikan dan efisiensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan utama di universitas-universitas yang bersangkutan dan menjelaskan bagaimana hal ini ditangani (atau tidak) oleh para pembuat kebijakan dan para pemimpin institusi/penelitian. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Hasanuddin, National University of Singapore, dan Nanyang Technological University. 

IGPA, University of Agder, and National University of Singapore conducted research on Neighbors in different worlds? Comparing university strategies and roles in Indonesia and Singapore. This research compares university strategies focusing on the interplay between local & national relevance and global excellence on the one hand, and the need to balance access (equity concerns) and efficiency. The aim is to identify key tensions across the case universities and shed light on how these are being addressed (or not) by policy makers and institutional/research leaders alike. This research is located at Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Hasanuddin, National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University. .
